Professional Context Statement + Learning Profile
I did a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication (Honours) and have worked in advertising and the UX/UI industry for about four years. I've done various projects, from branding to animation and website design. I’ve previously worked as a student demonstrator at UTS (2018), where I taught computer classes for first-year Visual Communication students in Text and Image 1, which explores the fundamentals of image, text and their interrelationship in professional design practice. I've recently returned to UTS to teach as a studio leader, where I will continue to mentor and teach subjects to students within Visual Communication. The subject I’ll be teaching is called Visualising Experience, where I’ll be helping students to use design practices to explore how to research informational and technological systems and conceptualise them through interactive experiences. I've also facilitated workshops in creative workplaces exploring the importance of the act of play and how creating and experimenting with no intention in mind can be a form of self-care and a moment for innovation.
Course Learning Goals
I would like to learn and explore how creativity can help people grow and influence communities, and help society progress, problem solve and create work that doesn't just value from profit and does social good, within academic spaces. I'd love to delve into teaching creativity and innovation in public schools, libraries and community art centres.
I’m interested in finding ways to combine education, design thinking, technology, creativity and innovation to encourage new ways of learning in a digital age. I'm intrigued about how design thinking and visual conceptualisation can tap into ways of learning and motivate people to follow their values/ethics/strive for social change in workspaces and academic spaces.
I believe design is a great tool to evoke empathy and bring different perspectives to life through storytelling, which can be brought into education, and I would like to explore theories and practices that can provide more opportunities for this to happen.
I want to meld design research and education together, which can therefore encourage practices that are reflective and provide subjective expression from an individual's personal perspective.

Leading Learning - Subject Learning Plan
Learning Goals
✨ To explore different methods of leadership within both academic and industry spaces to attempt to close the gap between theory and practice
📚 To research contemporary methods of leadership and see how I could implement that and pass on this knowledge to students in tertiary and secondary environments
💡To improve my confidence in leadership so that I am able to facilitate and lead learning spaces within both industry and academic environments
Linking Statement
Overall as a designer, I'd like to combine my skills from this field to help lead and facilitate learning within both academic and industry environments. I'm invested in exploring how design thinking and process-based learning can be implemented in all forms of learning spaces. I'd like to learn how to work in an ecosystem where stakeholders are involved but to also help students to become more autonomous and gain the ability to solve real-real problems and navigate their career and lives which aligns with their values
